INTRODUCTION

Sirius Exploration Plc is a diversified mining and exploration holding company focused on salt and potash deposits in North America and Australia.

The Company today has major interests in properties overlying two recognised – and significant - salt deposits in North America and Australia. Firstly, a 5000 acre area over the Williston Basin in North Dakota; secondly, a 600 square kilometre area in Australia overlying the Boree Salt Member; thirdly, 1250 square kilometres in the Kimberley region of Western Australia that reaches over The Canning Basin.

In addition, Sirius has acquired the IP and the issued share capital of three research and development companies focused on innovative new technologies for using its properties post the mining phase for environmentally beneficial activity.

These centre on either storing or sequestering CO2 in the salt caverns or salt beds created through solution mining, or establishing conventional Compressed Air Energy Storage facilities – and potentially new CO2 based CAES facilities – on its properties for storing and re-generating electricity post mining.

Sirius continues for the present to maintain its historic copper and gold interests in Macedonia and an iron ore interest in China through its equity position in a CIC Mining Resources Ltd vehicle.

Sirius Exploration was incorporated on 30 October 2003 as a private company. It subsequently re-registered as a public company under the name of Sirius Exploration Plc on 22 March 2005. It was admitted on to the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange in 2005 and its shares are also traded in North America through the use of an ADR facility.
